Wim Delvoye

via Wim Delvoye Most people know this guy from his infamous tattoed pigs. Those are definitely cool but check out this commercial construction equipment. Made completely out of laser cut steel they look like delicate blue collar churches. I'll take all three.
All the animal skeletons are made from laser cut maple and then inlaid into the ebony. So nuts.

R&W

A few more nuggets from Roman & Williams. Please forgive my unflinching adoration.

Samare

via Mattermatters This is definitely a little modern for me but I do appreciate the juxtaposition between the powder coated frame and the rawhide weaving. Made by a company called Samare based in Montreal it recalls the old furniture made by snowshoe companies in the off season (which I absolutely love). Those pieces were typically made out of bent oak with  rawhide seats and backs. With this new version you get sense that the emphasis was put more on aesthetic appeal and less over practical function. A fun idea but I can't see myself sitting down and trying to write a paper on the desk top. Oh Canada...
